This one lets your search the Aminet CDROM 2 (or any other Aminet collection
you have a correct INDEX for) for case-insensitive sub strings, and from the
output, an AmigaGuide doc is created that views .readme files or unpacks
.lha archives on a single click. You can also create a complete index by
omitting the search string. Works from WB and CLI.
Bugfix in V2: The full index was showing some nonexisting dirs.

PCDIFX - Photo-CD loader voor Image-FX.
Finally I have finished my final PhotoCD loader for Image-FX! As promised, its
error reporting is much better, I also increased the loading speed so that its
more than twice as fast as the first two releases. I also worked much harder on
this documentation! PCDIFX is based very loosely on Hadmut Danisch's
HPCDTOPPM, with the following changes and improvements:
o It is a Image-FX loader, as opposed to a standalone PhotoCD to PPM
converter.
o It is much smaller. HPCDTOPPM is 68K; PCD is 16K.
o It uses much less memory. HPCDTOPPM allocates memory for an entire
conversion and, as such, requires over 22 megabytes to convert a
3072x2048 pixel image. PCDIFX converts an image row by row and uses less
than 200 kilobytes for even the largest images.
o It works! HPCDTOPPM (which inspired this code of mine) has problems in its
3072x2048 conversion code which prevents its from functioning. PCDIFX works
in every resolution.
o A new "resolution" has been added: 3072x2048 LoRes. Full 3072x2048 is now
called 3072x2048 HiRes; 3072x2048 LoRes uses one less level of luma and
chroma correction and results in a little blurryer image. The tradeoff
here is speed versus accuracy: a 3072x2048 LoRes image loads more than three
times faster than the HiRes version. The degradation is not discernable
except at extremely high magnifications or on ultra-high resolution
displays. As such, LoRes is probably sufficient for most applications. Below
are all resolutions and my speed tests.

PhotoCD viewer/converter voor AGA.
PhotoCDAGA is a viewer/converter for pictures in the PhotoCD format. It is
based on the sources of the program "hpcdtoppm" written by Hadmut Danisch.
Advantages of PhotoCDAGA:
- high picture quality gained by using the overskip mode and map-files
(probably better than with all other programs)
- it does not cost you anything
- complete source code is included, it can be compiled with all C compilers on
the Amiga
- high speed (it is compiled with gcc 2.6.1, a part of it is written directly
in assembly language)
- saving in ppm-format is possible to allow conversion into other picture
formats
(e.g. to IFF-ILBM with ppm2AGA or to JPEG with cjpeg)
In the NETPBM package you can find converters for almost all formats.
(Aminet: gfx/pbm)
Disadvantages: (sorry)
- needs lot of memory
- not very comfortable (shell command)
- overview is not (yet) possible
- resolutions higher than Base (512x768) are not supported
(you have to use hpcdtoppm, the original, in this case)

When we unpacked freshfishcover.lha by Iljitsch van Beijnum
, we were really disappointed: A nice freshfish CDROM cover,
but only greyscale...
So we played around with the ilbmtoppm/ppmtoilbm, xv, a DECstation and an

Adds a new function to JukeBox. Try it! This is a combination of a small
REXX-script and a very small program adding a programming function to the audio
CD player tool "jukebox". (demo version on aminet, disk/cdrom,mus/play) The
contents of the current CD are shown and you can specify which tracks to play
and in which order. This is done by a small GUI. Second release, bugfix.

ATAPI CD-Rom driver voor A4000.
This device allows you to use an ATAPI CD-ROM drive with the A4000 or A4000T
embedded IDE controller. A4000 users can use the very popular and cheap CD-Roms
for PCs without any major disadvantages against SCSI CD-Rom drives.
The major advantage for A4000 users without a SCSI controller is, that they
don't have to buy one.
The major advantage for A4000 users with a SCSI controller is, that they have
an unused IDE port in their machine anyway and SCSI CD-Roms are usually more
expensive.
The device maps SCSI-II commands to ATAPI packets using the standard Commodore
HD_SCSICMD interface, so any "CD-Rom specific" programs (Multisession
Filsystems, Audio Players and Photo-CD readers) designed for SCSI-II CD-Roms
should work. This has been tested with CacheCDFS, PlayCD, CD32-Emulator (all
written by me) and PhotoWorX (an excellent PhotoCD Reader by Corporate Media).
However, I cannot guarantee that every SCSI-II specific program will work, but
I do not expect any major problems.
The device is fully interrupt driven and will use only a small amount of CPU
time for the transfer (exceptions are listed below).
The device is still in beta state, use at your own risk!
Further, the device will remind you after 15 Minutes, that you should BUY the
real thing (when it is finished).

and popular IDE-ATAPI CD-Roms (e.g. Mitsumi FX-001DE, FX-300, FX-400, Sony CDU
55E, Chinon, Acer, Wearnes, etc) with the A4000, A1200 or A600 internal IDE
port. Has been extended to be used with AlfaData AT-Bus controllers for A500
(AlfaPower) and the TandemCD board (A2000/3000/4000)! Works with A600 &
A1200! May now use 4 (!!!) units. Demo-Release (the device will remind you
after 15 Minutes, that you should BUY the real thing (when it is finished)).
