PC-TaskDemo 3.1 =============== Copyright © 1992-5 Chris Hames All Rights Reserved ReadMe.Demo rev 1.0 21/03/1995 Copyright © 1995 Quasar Distribution & Chris Hames Published exclusively by Quasar Distribution About the Program ----------------- Even though the world computer market is still dominated by PC's, the Amiga range of computers is excellent. You may wish to run PC software but do not want to purchase a second computer. This is where PC-Task is ideal. It allows you to run the majority of PC software packages (that require an 80286 processor or below) on your Amiga computer, making use of the peripherals and memory (up to 16MB) which you already own. The Multitasking capabilities of the Amiga range of computers is what has set it apart from other computer systems. PC-Task is no exception - it works without taking over your computer. When in operation the PC-Task application can be switched to when required. Multiple versions of PC-Task can be executed at the one time allowing you to run multiple PC packages at once. At last pre-emptive multitasking comes to the PC! The main down side of software emulation is speed, however, the faster your Amiga, the faster PC-Task's emulation will run. Program Description ------------------- PC-Task 3 is the first and only software 80286 emulator for the Amiga range of computers. The following features are included in this release: - Switchable 8086/80286 emulation - Support for up to 16MB RAM (15MB extended) of PC memory - Up to 2 floppy drives and 2 hard drives supported - Supports hard disk files and hard disk partitions - High density floppies and CD-ROM support - Select from MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA and SVGA (512K-2MB) video modes - Support for up to 256 colours on AGA machines (32 on Old/ECS machines) - Compatible with graphic boards (eg. EGS Spectrum, Picasso) - Parallel, Serial and PC speaker emulation - Mouse support, including Serial Mouse emulation - Run multiple PC-Task processes on the same machine - Run MS-DOS applications in a window on a public screen (eg. Workbench) - Transfer files between your Amiga and MS-DOS - Support for David Salamon's GoldenGate bridge cards - Compatible with MS Windows 3.0 - 3.11 * * MS Windows 3.1 requires 1.5 MB contiguous RAM and sufficient hard disk space (around 10MB) NOTE: Neither MS-DOS or MS Windows are included. 11 UND64_377.LHA 12k Xtract/list/test files on .d64 diskimages. These images may be found at WATSON.MBB.SFU.CA Very useful if you want to download programs from there to use on your 64 emulator or transfer them over to a real 64. 13 FMSX_0.4.LHA 81k MSX1 emulator voor 68020 en OS3.0. It emulates the MSX1 computer system. The emulation requires an 68020 and the v39 OS (or better). It runs at a reasonable speed on my a4000/30. This is not the finished version. Not included in this version are: - Disk support (only cartridges can be used) - MSX2 support The finished version is still being written. In the current stage the emulator is stable and can be used to play cartridge based games. 15 SHAPESHIFT2_0. 134k Macintosh II emulator, V2.0. ShapeShifter is a multitasking shareware Macintosh-II emulator for the Commodore Amiga computer. It allows to run Macintosh software concurrently to Amiga applications without hardware add-ons or modifications. Some of the emulation's features: - Color display up to 256 colors on AGA Amigas (16 colors on ECS) and up to 16,7 million colors on graphics cards (Picasso-II, EGS and CyBERgraphics cards are supported) - No MMU required, even runs on A1200 - Macintosh hard disks can be simulated in Amiga files or Amiga hard disk partitions [unregistered version has no hard disk partition support] - Can use Amiga floppy drives, serial, parallel and SCSI ports from the Mac [use of SCSI not possible in unregistered version] - Mac HD disks can be read directly with an HD floppy drive, Mac 800K disks cannot be read, Mac 720K disks, however, can - Multichannel sound output and parallel-port sound digitizers supported - Text clipboard sharing between Mac and Amiga - File handler to access Macintosh volumes from the Workbench - Speed comparable to a real Mac with equivalent hardware Requirements: OS2.1, 68020 processor, 4MB of RAM, HD floppy drive recommended. A copy of a Macintosh 512K or 1MB ROM and the Macintosh system software are not included, but required. The ROM can be read off of a real Mac by using a supplied program, the system software can be bought from Apple. Note, however, that reading the ROM is only legal if you have bought the ROMs or own a real Macintosh. Changes in V2.0: - Pre-emptive multitasking - Quickstart now works reliably - Bug in stack handling corrected - Graphics cards in 24 bit address space work with ROM 34 - CyBERgraphics 15 and 24 bit modes now work, selecting a CyBERgraphics mode will automatically set the color depth - Needs no special ROM sub versions any more - Setting for task priority removed - Macintosh reset routine revamped - Italian catalog files - When the selected amount of Mac memory is not available, you can choose to use the largest free block - Numerous internal corrections and improvements - SCSI IDs individually switchable, an error when accessing ID 0 will no longer cause the other IDs to be skipped - The graphics refresh is now done by a subtask, enabling the Amiga mouse pointer will prevent any refreshes - ROM write-protection is now choosable - The FileDisk driver will no longer open files with empty names 16 AMIMSX18.LHA 118k AmiMSX, MSX emulator. OS2.1+, 68020+. [From ] USER [Filename] FRODOV1_4.LHA [File 17 OF 11] [FREE] [Size ] 153858 [Sat 13 May 95 17:49] [Dwnlds ] 10 [Dwnld Tm] 0:52 C64 emulator, V1.4. OS2.1+, 68020+. Frodo is a multitasking freeware C64 emulator for the Amiga. OS2.1 and a 68020 (or better) are required, as well as copys of the original C64 ROMs, which are not included. This emulator focuses on the exact reproduction of special graphical effects possible on the 64, and is therefore not very fast (using a 68040/25 and a Piccolo card gives about half of the original C64 speed). However, using a line-based VIC model, it is capable of running most games and demos correctly, even those with FLI, FLD, DYCP, open top/bottom borders, multiplexed sprites etc. (but not AFLI and other effects depending on exact VIC/6510 synchronization). EGS, Picasso and CyBERgraphics graphics cards are supported for faster display. Using Amiga modes is possible, but slower (though there's a very fast monochrome Amiga mode).[U] Upload file [D] Download [F] File list [A] Change areas [N] New file scan [=] Global list [P] Private area [O] Edit signature [R] Read file [I] View archive [^] Goto msg area [@] Send message [M] Main menu [G] Goodbye [H] Help [B] Send filelist [?] Display menu [RET] Next file [*] Search file Area: [22] [Emulators] [0/1-17] => █
